Team Policies & FAQs

Please thoroughly read and fill out the form at the bottom once finished.

Welcome to the 2023-2024 Performance team Season! This packet has been put together to outline what is expected of the aerialist and their families. The following are policies necessary for a smooth and productive year.

It is of the utmost importance that each aerialist and guardian read and understand the agreement before making a decision to participate on the Eureka Aerial Performance Team.

Please make all family members aware of our policies to avoid conflicts throughout the year. This includes anyone who may drive the student to and from practices/performances, pay for tuition/fees, or attend performance events.

Once enrolled, you will be expected to abide by the following rules for the remainder of the 2023-2024 Season.

By paying your monthly tuition of $289 for performance team students, you are enrolled into a membership, meaning if you fail to bring your child to any practices or events held that month or should any practices be canceled, we are NOT entitled to give out any refunds or credit to your account. Each active student will be enrolled in ONE Performance Team.

Students may also have opportunities to do solos or duos at any upcoming performance and are required to attend one competition out of state. This is a privilege given to the student by instructor Katie. If your child receives the option to do a solo or duo it is an additional tuition of $189 per month. This includes a weekly 30 minute private lesson. Weekly private lessons are scheduled based on the instructors availability. It will be held at the same time each week. If you fail to show up for your scheduled solo or duo practice due to vacation or illness there is no promise of receiving a makeup.

FULL SEASON COMMITMENT

Performance team members & solo/duo students are committed to a full season when they sign on to be a performance team member. Quitting mid-year is detrimental to everyone on the team, so please consider this carefully before committing to the program.  All performance team students are required to commit to the full season, Starting the Tuesday after labor day (September 5th) and ending the weekend of the show (May 16th, 17th and 18th) If you have to withdraw your child earlier than this contract states you must pay a 2 month notice fee which will come out of your account the day the contract is terminated. Your child may not continue to participate in classes the day your contract is terminated. There will be no refunds issued on costumes, classes or showcase tickets if your child can no longer participate in our 2023-2024 season.

Solo / duo students are required to attend Aerialympics regionals which is an out of state competition. This year's regionals will be held in San Antonio, TX (April 6-7). Please make sure you are able to attend before committing to a solo or duo. Aerialympics nationals will be held in Kansas City, MO (June 8-9). Nationals are optional but highly encouraged. If the Aerialympics regionals are not accessible for you and your family there may be a virtual option. This option is for emergencies only and will be scheduled based on the instructors availability. Attending regionals is the only way to qualify for nationals.

Signing up & communication for Aerialympics will be done through Katie only. This is a change from previous years.

For more information on Aerialympics please check out their website: AERIALYMPICS

ATTENDANCE

The most important aspect for team members is attendance. We understand that things do happen– a student gets hurt, there is a family emergency, etc. If you are not at a team practice, the whole team suffers. If you miss a team practice, you are not improving your skills, and you will fall behind the other aerialists on the team. Partnering, formations, synchronization, and all other components of the routine can only be properly rehearsed with all aerialists in the piece.

Parents are required to contact our support team via email (support@eurekaaerial.com) if your child is unable to attend a practice. This is not only a courtesy to the instructor so they may plan accordingly, but also a studio safety policy.  You can find the supports contact info at the bottom of this sheet.  All students are expected to show up to every practice unless of an emergency, illness, or a conflict previously brought to our attention via the support team.

A failure to adhere to our attendance policy, over 3 times will result in a termination of this contract resulting in a charge of 2 months prepayment. There will be no refunds on previous classes, costumes, or performance tickets at this time.  If your student’s instructor feels they are falling behind due to missing rehearsals the aerialist may be asked to schedule a private lesson to catch up.  There will be a fee for private lessons.

Parents who bring students to class earlier than 15 minutes before class time, or are late to pick up students 15 minutes after their class has ended, will be charged an automatic babysitting fee of $50.  We understand that there will be certain circumstances where this may happen. If so, please contact Support ahead of time or as soon as you realize you will be late, or early due to an emergency.

SHOWCASE

All performance team students are required to attend all dress rehearsals and shows assigned to them throughout the year. Dress rehearsals will be the Thursday evening at 5 pm before the weekend of the show at the Paramount Theater in St. Cloud. Students must show up with full hair, makeup, and in costume. A makeup and costume hand book will be sent out closer to the dress rehearsal.

Currently we have booked one show the weekend of May 17th. With dress rehearsal being that Thursday evening.

SAFETY AND SPACE

Due to our limited space, we ask that you help limit the number of parents in the lobby during a class.  Parents or guardians of a student are welcome to stay in the lobby during a class, however, if you notice it is crowded please feel free to run an errand.  Minors such as friends or family of your child may not stay in the waiting room area unattended.

Parents are not allowed to enter the aerial room while your child's class is in session. You may only enter the aerial room if the instructor has invited you in to watch.  Student’s friends or relatives are also prohibited to be in the aerial room to watch during practice.

In order to ensure safety, all students must wait in the lobby for parent pickup.  No student is allowed to wait for their parents outside no matter the circumstances.  Any students under 12 years of age may not be left unattended in the lobby waiting for parent pickup.  Any student under 12, must stay in the aerial studio with an instructor until their parents come in the studio to pick them up.  Instructors are only liable for students during their class time. If you are unable to pick your child up on time, please contact Support prior to the scheduled class so we can make arrangements to watch over your child.

MANDATORY DRESS CODE

All children are required to wear appropriate aerial attire. Appropriate aerial attire is active wear that does not interfere with our aerial apparatuses and protects your child from unnecessary injuries. Please refrain from your child wearing zippers or clothing that will not cover areas of the body to protect them from the aerial apparatus. Skin on aerial apparatuses is painful and can end in bruising and other injuries. This year the following is mandatory:

  • Leggings

  • Leotard

  • Hair up and out of face

  • Compression sleeves

  • Water bottle

  • Aerial Bag with extra layers, hair ties, water bottle etc.

Baggy clothes will not be permitted this year unless approved by the instructor to put on as a layer. Baggy clothes prohibit the instructors from making corrections on whether your child is doing the correct form to execute skills. Baggy clothes can also be dangerous while performing certain moves as there is a higher risk of them getting caught in the aerial apparatuses.

All students should come with their own “Aerial Bag”. This will make sure that your child always comes prepared.

Failure to follow our dress code will result in a call home and your child unable to participate in class.

HYGIENE

Your child must practice good hygiene to participate in our aerial classes. There may be some circumstances where your child will be doing duo acts. Duo acts consist of being close to another individual. Good hygiene is required during these circumstances; failure to do so will take away their opportunity for duo acts in which proper hygiene is required for all students involved.

COSTUME FEE

There will be a costume fee of $200 for performance team members, that will be charged to your first month’s payment. This is higher than our previous year as undergarments will now be ordered by Katie and included with your costumes. The students will have 2 costumes and they will both be worn in the performances. For those performing in a solo or duo there will be an additional costume fee of $100. A solo or duo may have the opportunity to receive a custom made costume if so there may be additional fees added on.

ZERO TOLERANCE BULLYING

Members must be courteous and respectful to teammates. Improper and negative behavior towards team members will not be tolerated. Cyber bullying and bullying of any kind will not be tolerated. Disrespect to coaches and parents will not be tolerated.  Students must be respectful to fellow students and also their peers. All students start with a clean slate. If they repeatedly disrespect their instructors or their peers more than 3 times there will be an automatic termination of this contract which includes an automatic charge of 2 months ahead payment. There will be no refunds on classes, costumes or performance tickets. Your child will not be allowed back for future classes. Parents will be notified as soon as the 2nd strike is issued and will be required to stay on premises during all class times going forward.

WEATHER CANCELLATION

In case of a missed class or a class cancellation due to weather, there will be no makeup. Substitute instructors will be issued if your original instructor is not able to attend. If we are unable to find a substitute there will be a make up class scheduled.

NO CLASS DAYS

There will be no class on the following dates:
