Team Policies, Waiver, and Covid Policies
Please thoroughly read and fill out the form at the bottom once finished.
Welcome to the 2022-2023 Aerial Dance experience at Eureka Aerial! We will be offering both performance team and recreation options this season. Performance team requires a higher level of commitment for both the students and the parents. Performance team will practice twice per week, and recreation. will be once per week. This packet has been put together to outline what is expected of the aerialist and their families. The following are policies necessary for a smooth and productive year.
It is of the utmost importance that each aerialist and guardian read and understand the agreement before making a decision to participate on the Eureka Aerial Performance Team.
Please make all family members aware of our policies to avoid conflicts during the year. This includes anyone who may drive the student to and from practices/performances, pay for tuition/fees, or attend performance events.
Once enrolled, you will be expected to abide by the following rules for the remainder of the 2022-2023 Season.
By paying your monthly tuition of $289 for performance team students, and $149 for recreation students, you are enlisted into a membership, meaning if you fail to bring your child to any practices or events held that month or should any practices be cancelled, we are NOT entitled to give out any refunds or credit to your account. Each active student will be enrolled in ONE Performance Team. Students may also have opportunities to do solos, duets and/or trios at any upcoming performance, this is an option and a privilege given to the student by instructor Katie, and based on the agreed practice time set aside for your child. Additional fees and class times will be required for solos, duos, and trios.
FULL SEASON COMMITMENT.
Performance team members are committed to a full season when they sign on to be a performance team member. Quitting mid-year is detrimental to everyone on the team, so please consider this carefully before committing to the program. All performance team students are required to commit to the full season, beginning the week of September 12th and ending the weekend of the show (June2-3) If you have to withdraw your child earlier than this contract states you must pay a 2 month notice fee which will come out of your account the day the contract is terminated. Your child may not continue to participate in classes the day your contract is terminated. This does not include if your child has an injury which prohibits them from practicing and performing. There will be no refunds issued on costumes, classes or recital tickets if your child can no longer participate in our 2022-2023 season.
Recreation Members The season for recreation aerial begins the weekend of September 24th and ends the weekend of May 20th. If you have to withdraw your child earlier than this contract states you must pay a 2 month notice fee which will come out of your account the day the contract is terminated. Your child may not continue to participate in classes the day your contract is terminated. This does not include if your child has an injury which prohibits them from practicing and performing. There will be no refunds issued classes if your child can no longer participate in our 2022-2023 season. If you are interested in signing up for recreation please visit https://eurekaaerial.com/recreation
ATTENDANCE. The most important aspect for team members is attendance. We understand that things do happen– a student gets hurt, there is a family emergency, etc. If you are not at a team practice, the whole team suffers. If you miss a team practice, you are not improving your skills, and you will fall behind the other aerialists on the team. If you miss a team practice, you are not learning the routine. Partnering, formations, synchronization, and all other components of the routine can only be properly rehearsed with all aerialists in the piece. If you are missing at a performance, the whole aerial dance has to be re-staged.
Parents are required to contact the owner Katie Scott via email, text or call if your child is unable to attend a practice. Even if the student's instructor is not Katie, you must contact her directly. This is not only a courtesy to the instructor so they may plan accordingly, but also a studio safety policy. You can find Katie’s contact info at the bottom of this sheet. All students are expected to show up to every practice unless of an emergency, illness, or a conflict previously spoken to by Katie.
A failure to adhere to our attendance policy, over 3 times will result in a termination of this contract resulting in a charge of 2 months prepayment. There will be no refunds on previous classes, costumes, or performance tickets at this time. If your student’s instructor feels they are falling behind due to missing rehearsals the aerialist may be asked to schedule a private lesson to catch up. There will be a fee for private lessons that can be found on our website.
Parents who bring students to class earlier than 15 minutes before class time, or are late to pick students 15 minutes after their class has ended, will be charged an automatic babysitting fee of $50. We understand that there will be certain circumstances where this may happen. If so, please contact Katie ahead of time or as soon as you realize you will be late, or early due to an emergency.
SHOWCASE All performance team students are required to attend all dress rehearsals and shows assigned to them throughout the year. Dress rehearsals will be the Thursday evening before the weekend of the show at the Paramount Theater in St. Cloud.
Currently we have booked one show the weekend of June 2nd. With dress rehearsal being that Thursday evening. We are actively looking for a venue that is available in hopes to have another show earlier in the season.
SAFETY AND SPACE Due to our limited space, we ask that you help limit the number of parents in the lobby during a class. Parents or guardians of a student are welcome to stay in the lobby during a class, however, if you notice it is crowded please feel free to run an errand. Minors such as friends or family of your child may not stay in the waiting room area unattended.
Parents are not allowed to enter the aerial room while your child's class is in session. You may only enter the aerial room if the instructor has invited you in to watch. Student’s friends or relatives are also prohibited to be in the aerial room to watch during practice.
In order to ensure safety, all students must wait in the lobby for parent pickup. No student is allowed to wait for their parents outside no matter the circumstances. Any students under 12 years of age may not be left unattended in the lobby waiting for parent pickup. Any student under 12, must stay in the aerial studio with an instructor until their parents come in the studio to pick them up. Instructors are only liable for students during their class time. If you are unable to pick your child up on time, please contact Katie prior to the scheduled class so we can make arrangements to watch over your child.
AERIAL ATTIRE All children are required to wear appropriate aerial attire. Appropriate aerial attire is active wear that does not interfere with our aerial apparatuses. Please refrain from your child wearing zippers or clothing that will not cover areas of the body to protect them from the aerial apparatus. Skin on aerial apparatuses is painful and can end in bruising and other injuries. If your child needs to wear shorts or other clothing items that help them stay cool please pack extra layers of clothing in case of uncomfortable contact with the aerial apparatus.
HYGIENE Your child must practice good hygiene to participate in our aerial classes. There may be some circumstances where your child will be doing duo acts. Duo acts consist of being close to another individual. Good hygiene is required during these circumstances; failure to do so will take away their opportunity for duo acts in which proper hygiene is required for all students involved.
COSTUME FEE There will be a costume fee of $150 for performance team members, that will be charged to your first month’s payment. The student’s will have 2 costumes and they will both be worn in the performances. Please note, RECREATION WILL NOT PERFORM AND WILL NOT HAVE A COSTUME FEE. For those performing in a solo, duo, or trio, additional costumes may be required at an additional cost. There may be additional charges depending on if your child will need specific undergarments for their costume such as tights and bras. These will be ordered in the fall.
ZERO TOLERANCE BULLYING Members must be courteous and respectful to teammates. Improper and negative behavior towards team members will not be tolerated. Cyber bullying and bullying of any kind will not be tolerated. Disrespect to coaches and parents will not be tolerated. Students must be respectful to fellow students and also their peers. All students start with a clean slate. If they repeatedly disrespect their instructors or their peers more than 3 times there will be an automatic termination of this contract which includes an automatic charge of 2 months ahead payment. There will be no refunds on classes, costumes or performance tickets. Your child will not be allowed back for future classes. Parents will be notified as soon as the 2nd strike is issued and will be required to stay on premises during all class times going forward.
